Weekend Review

 Hi there! Happy Monday. We had a nice weekend and tried to get out before the weather really turned for the worst! 

A few weeks ago we completed the Kettle Moraine Scene drive and that gave us inspiration for some new-to-us nature areas to check out. On Saturday we visited the Pike Lake Unit. It was so beautiful!

The weather was cool but lovely. We tried to beat the rain and were (mostly) successful!

We found this along the trail. I thought it was interesting how the trees have grown in and around this!

And, here's the namesake! Pike Lake. Once we got home, we warmed up with these pumpkin lasagna rolls. They did the job and made me feel cozy! Although they aren't the most photogenic, lol. 

I made some peanut butter chocolate cookies. I sprinkled some flaky salt on the chocolate dipped ones. They are so good!

On Sunday we did some house chores. I watched Lily and Dash on Netflix! Have you seen it? It's cute. It's festive but without the literal "Dad is Santa" plot line. Which I love those movies, too! But I'm not ready for those until December. 

We finished the weekend with a virtual game night with some friends. Since we're not seeing anyone in person right now, I sometimes forget how full my heart feels after "hanging" with friends. It was so wonderful!
