Weekend Review

Hey everyone! I hope you all had such a great weekend. We definitely did!

I had to be in Illinois for a doctor's appointment on Friday. So I got to see a few fun faces! Like Gizmo, my parent's dog. I think he was happy to see me, too.

Of course, I also saw my parents! And my sister, brother-in-law, and nephews. I picked up some food from Beerhead's and sat outside to have dinner with one of my best friends! The food was wonderful and the company was even better.

Picture of only the pizza box because I got too excited to eat!

On Saturday, we packed in as many festive activities we could! We started by making these honeycrisp apple fritters. !!!!! I was so proud of myself for doing this!! And not starting a grease fire in my apartment! Can you believe it? Ha.

To be honest, these were delicious and actually worth the work. They are totally do-able, even for a first-time-deep-fryer like me. Especially if you like that sweet+salty combo, these are soo good.

We carved our pumpkins and saved the seeds to roast later! We haven't carved pumpkins in a year or two, and it was so fun. We kept it simple with our designs, lol.

Then, we saw a ~spooky~ movie at our nearest drive in! Well, if you consider Casper spooky, ha. We brought some candy, popcorn, and hot cider/chocolate.

After the drive in, we tried to find some Halloween decorations near our neighborhood to enjoy. We did not have much luck. We finished the evening with some Trader Joe's zucchette pasta with pumpkin pasta sauce, and Coco. That movie gets me every single time.

On Sunday, we laid low. We did some laundry, a quick return, some baking (detailed on my Instagram - @jennadblogs - follow along!), and I finished a book, In Five Years. It was such a good, quick read.

What did you do this weekend??
