Weekend Review

Happy Monday! I'm excited to have a fresh start and new week. How was your weekend?

On Friday we ordered takeout from Apollo Cafe. I forgot to take a picture because I was too excited to eat! We got falafel wraps, hummus, onion rings, and saganáki. It was amazing! And we had another stunning sunset.

We enjoyed some wonderfully (and unseasonably) warm temperatures for this time of year - high 60s/low 70s - this weekend. We tried to take advantage of the weather as we much as could! On Saturday we took a walk in Havenswood State Forest, which is actually located in Milwaukee! It was beautiful, and hard to believe we were in Milwaukee.

We saw a few other people out on the trails enjoying the weather. If you're in the Milwaukee area, I would highly recommend visiting this forest!

We otherwise laid pretty low on Saturday! I made dinner and we continued our journey playing Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker which we've been working our way through. It is definitely one of our favorite games we've played, ever!

On Sunday we picked up an order of groceries from Aldi. Are you still picking up your groceries? Going to the store? Delivery? Or a mix? I would say we still mostly do pickup but I will run in somewhere if we just need a few things. I found some new/new to me things at Aldi that I'm excited to try!

Then we did a workout, and I finished making babkallah from Claire Saffitz's new book, Dessert Person. It took kind of a long time (about 5 hours, with two rises each about 2 hours), but wasn't technically challenging. And, the bread was incredible! I think it was worth the effort.

We completed some other housework and then I spent some time reading on our balcony.

How was your weekend??
