Weekend Baking Project Ideas

Hi! Happy almost weekend. Phew. This week has been a thousand years long. Again, time in 2020 is a strange thing.

Anyway, here are some baking ideas for you this weekend! Baking is one of my favorite things to do, and especially one of my favorite ways to release some stress. I am looking forward to some kitchen time this weekend! Make sure you are taking care of yourselves as much as you can.

I just picked up Claire Saffitz's (used to work on Bon Appetit YouTube videos) new cookbook, Dessert Person. I've looked through the book a little, and it certainly is gorgeous! She is very academic and thorough in her explanations which is awesome, but some of the recipes seem a little over-complicated to me. I am just a simple gal! This book would definitely provide you with unique dessert recipes. I'm thinking about trying her Honey Tahini Challah recipe from her book this weekend. Or maybe the English Muffins! I will be sure to let you know what I think.

If you're more of a savory breakfast person, these pumpkin pancetta waffles look amazing! I don't eat meat so I would leave the pancetta out and probably serve it with fried eggs instead of hardboiled. But, yum! I feel like pumpkin is most often turned sweet in the fall, and I love to try the savory recipes with it.

These caramel stuffed brownie cookies. Omg!!! Wow. I love that these have more of a true brownie base. I'm speechless!

Photo from HalfBakedHarvest. How stunning!!

Chai Spiced Butternut Squash Muffins. Oh man! These look great. Could be a good option for breakfast prep for next week! And you could easily sub pumpkin or even sweet potato.

This Pear-Cranberry Crisp. I have been really into pears this fall, but haven't made very many desserts with them, so this might have to be first on my list this weekend!

What will you be baking this weekend?
