Weekend Review - Vol. 25

 June 18-19, 2022

Hello there my dear friendly readers! Thank you for being here. I had a very low key weekend because I tested positive for covid this week. Sheesh! I really thought I had it two weeks ago, but I must have had another virus. It's been a bummer to be sick on and off for so long, but I feel like I'm finally on the upswing. So, I had a very low key weekend.

Friday we picked up ice cream from one of our local faves, Purple Door. Right now they are having a competition for a new ice cream flavor, and they were selling a flight of all the entries where you could try them all and vote! That was suuuper fun. I liked the cinnamon graham flavor, Dan like the cantaloupe, and we both agreed that brown bread was interesting and you can't go wrong with chocolate + cookie pieces. So fun!!

Saturday morning we carried out bagel sandwiches from Allie Boy's Bagelry and Luncheonette. Omg, these were insane!! I got a sandwich with beets, goat cheese, and avocado, and, wow. It blew me away! Dan got the veggie sandwich which was also delicious. Such a great way to start the weekend. I took Millie for a nice long walk along the lakefront in the afternoon.

I grilled some burgers for dinner. We have been having several 95+ degree days on and off these past few weeks and this upcoming week, which is way too hot for me personally to grill or even turn on my oven! So I'm trying to take advantage of the slightly cooler days when I can and plan my meals around those.

Sunday we took Millie to Granville dog park, one of our favorite spots. Millie loooves it there too! Its a wooded area with a big walking path throughout/around it, and there's a river on one side as a boundary. We had such a good time. Millie did manage to jump all the way in the river and get super muddy and wet, lol. So you can guess who got a bath when we got home.

I made a big salad for lunch (it is early CSA season for sure - we are swimming in greens!). We hung around the apartment for a little while, and then took a bike ride down to the lakefront. We stopped near the beach for a little bit, but then got chilly from the breeze and headed back to the park! After reading and enjoying the weather for a while, we headed home. I chopped up a bunch of the greens from the CSA box, and then we played some Mario Kart with friends to end the day!

It was a great, low key weekend. What were you up to??
