March Favorites

Happy early April! I keep telling Dan how excited I am for it to get warm and to do summer stuff. And how I feel like it will never come, lol, since we have had so many gray and rainy days these last couple weeks. But I'm trying to remain hopeful and patient. Here's a few things I was loving in March!

EATING

- chia pudding. starting making this for breakfasts to take to work and I'm loving it!

- London fog lattes. so good! excited to have some more iced as the weather warms.

- salmon ginger salad. this was so so good and so easy!

- cookies and cream blondies

- mint brownies. I took my favorite brownie recipe from Midwest Made and added some mint chips I had. they were delightful!

- beet smoothie. really good, if you like beets. probably not good if you don't like beets, lol.

- asparagus pasta salad. yum! also took to work for lunches as was so good.

- crispy mushroom bao buns that we had on our Montana trip!

- pizza. I made some great pizza this month but I'm excited to grill pizza soon!

- brown butter rice crispy treats. oh these were so good!!

WATCHING

- And Just Like That. I watched this all in one weekend. I thought it got better as it went along, and can see where a lot of the criticism surrounding the show comes from. But, I still kind of liked it? Like, fun to see familiar characters, to see what the wore, interesting to see how their plots unfolded. I watched it all soooo. Lol.

- Amazing Race finale. What a good season!! We loved Arun and Natalia but were happy with the finale.

- Survivor 42!! Looooving 42. Great cast and it feels like there is less explaining of advantages (and thus more time spent on the cast/strategy).

- Spirited Away

- Pam and Tommy

- Inventing Anna. I liked this! I watched this at the same time as The Dropout and it is interesting to me that these two shows kind of similar in theme came out at the same. I liked them both but maybe prefer The Dropout. I feel like this was maybe 2 episodes more than was really needed to tell the story. I listened to a podcast that compared it to Scandal in terms of vibes and would totally agree. Very true to that classic Shonda Rhimes feel, and also some of the actors, lol. It was jarring to me to see Kate Burton in both this and The Dropout.

- Love is Blind season 2. To be honest I did not watch the first season of this show but I loved this second season so I'm thinking about going back and watching it!

- Bachelor finale. What a turn this took. I'm glad to have a break from their content haha.

- The Dropout. This is very interesting! We're curious to see how the last episode goes. Although, I heard there is maybe a movie about this also coming out? And there was a book, and the tv show is based on a podcast? So I feel like maybe we don't need a movie also.

- Cabaret. We watched this one evening! Liza Minnelli, holy cow.

- The Batman. We saw this last week, and I had a few thoughts. Overall, I liked it and thought it was super cool looking, can totally see the appeal there. But, why did Batman have to walk so slowly the entire time. I feel like they could have shaved 20 minutes off the movie if he just walked a little faster, lol. Also, it wasn't too too confusing (like some Marvel movies where the plot has a lot of loops and a lot of characters/backstories get involved), but it was almost at that point by the end. I didn't realize that Robert Pattinson would talk in that deep voice the whole time. I kind of thought it was just a bit when he was Batman? Okay, and how funny that they had his policeman friend state the obvious after every clue they read together from the Riddler. Like, every time he would read through the clue and then say "What could it mean??". Lol, just cracked me up. And, last thing, I thought the sound/music was really impactful....but they are just using Star Wars/Darth Vader for the main Batman theme so that was distracting.

READING

- The Charm Offensive. this book was sooo cute and I couldn't put it down. About a Bachelor-esque tv show where a producer and the talent fall in love.

What were you into this month?? What are you thinking about these similar tv shows coming out at the same time? Loving it or too much?
