Weekend Review - Vol. 16

 April 16-17, 2022

 Hi! How are ya? We had a full weekend and it feels like we are going into a busy season with lots of birthdays, activities, weddings...so here we go!

Friday we got ready for the weekend. I did some baking, and made this Easter snack mix which was soooo good. I brought it to a party and it was well-received! I also made this carrot cake loaf with Nutella cream cheese. This was decadent! Yum. We packed up and got ready. 

Saturday morning we headed down to Illinois. First Millie had an appointment to get some shots! She did good sitting on the scale to get weighed, and they said she was "wiggly" while getting her shots, lol. That's definitely her! Then we headed to Downers Grove and met a friend for lunch! We ate at a place called Caribbean Corner. It was great! That's the second time Dan and I have been there. We dropped off Dan and Millie and I headed to Oakbrook Mall with my friend to do some shopping. We have some weddings to attend and I wanted to get a dress to wear. The mall was crazy! There were lines in all of the stores to check out and it was hard to get a dressing room! We stopped and got an Auntie Anne's pretzel and it was amazing tbh. After the shopping, I had dinner with my parents and my sister and her family. It's always fun to get together! Saturday night I headed to Chicago to go to a surprise party for a friend! She was shocked and we were so happy to be celebrating her and her new job. This is where I brought the snack mix that was well-received haha. The only picture I got was of this Vizzy! Lol. 

Sunday was Easter! We met my family at church, and then went to brunch at the Carlisle afterwards. It was yummy! We loved the salads, pasta, waffles, fish, desserts....so good. We picked up Millie and went back to my parents house for a little Easter egg hunt. Then we drove back to Milwaukee! We were glad to be home after a fun + busy weekend.
