Weekend Review - Vol. 12

March 19-20, 2022

Happy Tuesday! How was your weekend? Mine was just lovely!!

One of my best friends came to visit, and we had the best best time. Friday night we picked her up from the train station in Kenosha. We ordered some Thai-namite to pick up on our way back, and had a yummy dinner.

Sooooooo good. We played some games on the Switch and caught up! She also brought me these beautiful tulips that opened up nicely.

Saturday morning we woke up and walked Millie to go pick up some coffee. It was cloudy but clear. I made some bagel egg sandwiches for breakfast! I did eggs, red pesto, spinach, cheese, and avocado, one of my favorite combos. Then we drove to Runway Dog Park to take a walk with Millie. It was cold but not too muddy, and Millie had lots of fun running around. After going home to drop off Millie and get ready, we headed out to a new gyro place for lunch. I got a falafel wrap and we shared some curly fries. It was pretty good! The fries, falafel, and pita were really good, but there wasn't any sauce on there which I missed. Then we went over to Farm Girl Antiques. It was sooo cute! We could have wandered in there for hours. We found a few fun things (like those green placements above). Afterwards, we drove to a local used bookstore where we walked around for a little while. Then we headed back home. Our heat was having issues, so we called maintenance and they came by to look at it. Luckily they were able to find the issue and fix it! I made some goat cheese pasta with a salad for dinner. It was yummy!

Saturday night we watched The Parent Trap! The 90's version with Lindsay Lohan. My friend and I have been watching all of the Nancy Meyers movies over the last year (mostly over Facetime!), and this weekend was a special treat to get to watch this one together. The Parent Trap is one of our favorite movies and we were so excited to make it this far down Nancy Meyers' list! The movie was, of course, amazing. We had Oreos with peanut butter, and wore our matching Camp Walden sweatshirts. It was the best night!!

Sunday morning we got up and drove to Kenosha to drop off our friend at the train station. I took a nap when we got home, lol. And then I spent the afternoon prepping some food for the week! I made this asparagus pasta salad that is so tasty! I have been packing it in my lunch for work. I also cut up a bunch of produce, made some granola, and some other breakfasts for the week. Millie and I took a nice walk in the afternoon to soak up the warmer weather.

Sunday night I made some pizzas for dinner that were great! It made me really excited to start grilling this year. We finished Pam and Tommy, and that was our weekend! What did you do??
