Weekend Review - Vol. 51

 December 18-19, 2021

Hi! Happy Wednesday. This week is crazy! So much to do getting ready for Christmas, and so much else going on. Phew.

We had a good, but busy weekend! Friday morning before work we started at the dog park. It was chilly, but nice and empty!

Friday evening we saw the new Spiderman movie. I loved it!!! We watched the prior two in the last few weeks since I am new to these spiderman movies but was super excited to see this newest one. It did make me cry! But I am an easy cry at movies, lol.

After the movie we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things (like four more pounds of butter for baking - ha). Then we went into Whole Foods and picked up some food from their hot section for dinner! We got meatless meatballs, cacio e pepe arancini, and meatless meatballs. Overall, we thought it was okay! Not amazing, but pretty good and of course super easy.

Saturday during the day I made some more cookies! I finished my final batches on Monday, so that's a wrap for Christmas cookies this year. You can see everything I put in my cookie boxes in this post here!

In the evening I met some friends to go see West Side Story. Talk about crying in a movie, omg! But, it was amazing. Like, wow! Wow. So visually stunning, and I liked the singing and acting as well.

Sunday morning we went to Smallpie to pick up some breakfast-y/brunch food. Dan got a grilled cheese and I got a black bean handpie, and we shared a yogurt parfait. Omg, it was great!! Everything we ordered was so good.

Then we took a really lovely walk along the lake! It was a little chilly, but clear and sunny. Millie had a great time, of course.

Sunday afternoon I made some chili! Trying to get some leftovers in the fridge for this busy week coming up. I also made this beer bread recipe - it was my first time trying it, and it was so good. Easy but super flavorful and the texture was perfect.

Sunday evening we went to go see the light display at Boerner Botanical Gardens. This is our favorite light display in the Milwaukee area! I made some hot chocolate to enjoy on our ride.

What did you do this weekend?
