Holiday Cookies 2020!

It's cookie season!!! Well, cookie season is really all year round. Especially at my house. But, this is the widely-accepted cookie season of the year. Woo hoo! I did my big cookie baking day over the weekend, but will still probably do a few more batches over the next few weeks. Because its that time of year!

Here are some of the cookies I made this year (and some I'm still thinking about!). Peanut butter blossom cookies are so classic! This year I used Shauna Sever's version from Midwest Made that uses a chocolate ganache filling instead of a Hershey's kiss. They are phenomenal!

My family has a fudge recipe that is classic to us! It's marshmallows + chocolate chips + sugar + milk + butter. Can't go wrong!

I love these Lemon Crinkle Cookies from How Sweet Eats. I've been making them the past few years and they are so good! I feel like they give the same pay-off as lemon bars but are so much easier. And the crinkle is so pretty!

You can't go wrong with Shortbread Bites! Or Fairy Bites, whatever you choose to call them. They are so festive with their red and green sprinkles! And the perfect size for snacking.

I decided to make some cut-out sugar cookies this year, too! I used this recipe and it worked really well. Definitely do not skip freezing the cookies on the sheet tray before baking! This really helps them keep their shape.

I tried these Hot Chocolate Lace cookies for the first time ever and holy moly!! These were real deal so good. And, not too difficult either! I thought the recipe made them sound more intimidating than the actually were. With the chocolate filling....wow! I think these are very unique, and definitely worth a try!

I made a few chocolate dipped Oreos and pretzels. They round out a cookie box so nicely!

I made a small batch of classic Snowball cookies. These are such a tradition in my family!

These Chocolate Mint Crinkle cookies are so good and so stunning! If you don't like mint, you could easily leave out the mint extract and have them be regular chocolate cookies. These are a little messy while rolling, fair warning!

And, my favorite cookie of the year.....Dark Chocolate Orange Slice and Bake cookies! Who let these cookies be so good??? Omg. This is actually the first time I have made these - I was really interested in the chocolate + orange combo. You betcha I added the walnuts, too. These are perfect!! I love the texture and the half dip is both beautiful and delicious. I may have to upgrade these to an all-year-round cookie!

There are a few cookies still on my list I might make before we're officially through the holiday season. I think these Soft Gingersnap cookies look delightful! I like that its a gingerbread flavor without being actual, hard, sometimes-inedible gingerbread. I love millionaire bars (who doesn't like chocolate+shortbread+caramel??) and I thought this Brown Butter version sounds amazing! The last cookie on my list are these Almond Butter Coconut Macaroons. This feels like a fancy Samoa to me!

What is your favorite Christmas cookie? Do you prefer the classics or do you like to try a few new recipes every year??
