Weekend Review

 Hi! Can you believe we are almost one week from Christmas? What!! How is this happening? I apologize for the late weekend review (and the quiet week last week)! I was feeling sick last week and just got busy with holiday stuff. I'm trying to take time to actually enjoy the season while we are in it!

We had a really low key weekend last week. It was lovely! On Saturday, I did my holiday cookie day!! You can see all the details of what I made in this blog post. I set aside the whole day (and really most of the weekend!) to make the majority of my Christmas cookies. I made quite a few varieties, both traditional and new to me! I was cookied-out at the end of the day, but it was so fun and is one of my favorite holiday traditions. We listened to all our Christmas records and it was such a festive day! The weather was really crappy (sleet/freezing rain) so it was a great way to spend the day. And I made slow cooker lasagna! Yum!

On Sunday, I actually had a few more cookies I wanted to make, lol! So I finished that up in the morning. We ran a few errands (picked up some Christmas gifts!), and then we stopped at Trader Joe's! It was kind of busy but we just popped in for a few minutes. Honestly, I just went in to get a chocolate orange. I have been trying to get one from Aldi in my past few grocery pickups but haven't been able to! So, that was my mission at Trader Joe's. And, mission accomplished! 

Before heading home, we stopped at a lakefront park. It was beautiful! But also cold. Holy cow! I feel like we went from the 40s to the mid-20's over the weekend and I was not quite ready, lol. 

We did some special Christmas cookie deliveries on Sunday night, and watched some Great British Bake-off Holiday Edition! How was your weekend?? What did you do? Are you all ready for Christmas?
