November Books Recap

Hello! How are you? Do you find yourself reading more at this time of year as it gets colder and we are spending more time inside? Or are you reading less as you prepare for the holidays?? I had a slower reading month in November but am looking forward to December!

a sneak preview of the book I'm currently reading!

The first book I read this month was Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner. This book really captivated me in the best way! I finished it all in one weekend because I just wanted to know the end, haha. It's the story of a woman who is invited to stand up in the wedding of a friend she had a serious falling out with years ago. Something about the situation feels off to her right away, but it turns out to be much different than she could have ever expected. I loved the way this book really delved into the complicated world of female friendships and what it means to really depend on someone. All in all, I really enjoyed this! Definitely a summer-y book (the wedding takes place on the beach in Cape Cod), but still a great choice for this time of year - like a staycation in a book!

The second book I read this month was Beach Read by Emily Henry. I thought this book was okay. It was cute, but it took me a little while to really get into it and I never felt like it totally wrapped me up in the story. It's about a two writers who are creatively stuck, and challenge each other to switch genres for the summer. They become close as they explore each other's writing process. The story takes place in a beach town in Michigan, and I loved picturing that familiar, idyllic, Midwest summer on the lake. The story was also a little bit all over the place, but I did appreciate the realism of two adults sorting through their pasts while finding love.

I'm looking forward to December reads! I have a few books on my docket that are more holiday-themed which I love. All things festive, all season long! What have you been reading lately??
