Weekend Review - Vol. 5

January 29-30, 2022

Hiiii. How are you? Glad that January is just about coming to end? It has felt both very long and very short to me! We seem so far away from Christmas. While volunteering at the humane society on Thursday night, I got bit by a dog. I'm okay, but my left hand was pretty painful and not particularly useful for a few days after it happened. So, I ended up having a pretty low key weekend while I was resting.

I had a Facetime call with a friend on Friday night which really lifted my spirits and made me feel so much better! Through the call, I was also reintroduced to Words with Friends which I spent many more hours playing this weekend.

On Saturday, I really just rested. I started a new book, The Christmas Bookshop (yes I'm still reading Christmas books...I was way down on the library request list, lol). We had some burritos for dinner and mine unfolded, lol. Saturday night I watched Plan B on Hulu. I liked it! It reminded me of Booksmart, where it was a teen drama but had more dry humor and wasn't over romanticized/dramatized. I would recommend it! Also I loved that it took place in South Dakota.

Sunday we ran out to REI to look at some ski pants for an upcoming trip. Then I finished my book! I really enjoyed it. It felt one step up from a standard cheesy holiday book to me. Like there was a little more substance to it, it was about more than just a girl falling in love around Christmas (which was also included but wasn't the focal point). The writing sometimes felt a little long-winded, but, overall I would totally recommend this book!

Millie found a new way to lay in her bed, and we had some egg sandwiches for dinner. I'm ready for a fresh start this week! How was your weekend?
