Weekend Review - Vol. 7

2.13-2.14

Happy Valentine's Day weekend! Did you have a good one? We never make Valentine's Day a big deal, but right now I am glad to have anything big or small to look forward to, so a special day like this was perfect. My mom had sent us some treats (my favorite heart-shaped chocolate chip dipped cookies) for the day, so it felt like a mini-holiday all week!

We started our weekend off with something very exciting - cleaning our windows!! Lol. We've been having a lot of ice/condensation build up on our windows with the extremely low temps and snow. So we worked on getting our window screens off and cleaning them up. We'll put them back on once it finally warms up and we can open the windows again! Next year I don't think we'll wait until February to do this. Hindsight is 20/20!

We were very excited to dive into playing Super Mario 3D World/Bowser's Fury this weekend! It has totally lived up to my high expectations and has been such a fun game to play. We both love Mario games and this one is so charming. This is Dan's second time playing it through (it originally came out Wii U) but he says it has been just as fun as the first time!

Also, surprise surprise, we got some more snow! I really like snow and winter in general, and luckily we park in a garage under our apartment so we don't have to do any shoveling. But....I think we are all ready for a change and some warmer weather (and some more sun!). At least the sunset was nice (above).

Saturday night we had our standing game night with some friends. Always so fun!! And I made these Thai-inspired quinoa meatballs which is one of my favorite dinners.

Sunday was Valentine's Day! We didn't do any special activities, but we did have some special treats! I made these frozen chocolate croissants from Trader Joe's! They were delicious and I would definitely recommend trying them! Interestingly, they made our apartment smell like pizza while they were baking.

We went for a walk in Bayview on Sunday, too! It was quite cold but we both recently purchased some fleece lined hiking pants. So we layered up and went outside! It really wasn't too bad, although our faces were pretty chilly by the end.

Then we stopped at a co-op grocery store. Dan said that was my Valentine's Day gift which was perfectly fine with me! Haha. Joking (mostly! I really love going to grocery stores). Then he picked up some flowers he ordered for me. How stunning!

I made some heart-shaped pizzas for dinner! One cheese and one sweet potato/barbecue, our favorites!

We played some more Mario! And, I've been working my way through Survivor - I'm trying to watch all the seasons in order. How was your weekend?
