Weekend Review - Vol. 21

 May 21-22, 2022

We had a packed weekend! Full of lots of fun things. But phew! The summer is always busiest for me, having the most things to do, and it is a busy time for my work, and something with the days being lighter for longer really makes it feel like you can pack a lot in. So I'm starting to really feel that get going!

Friday was Dan's birthday! I picked up some Cranky Al's donuts to start the day. These were soooo good (and obviously extremely cute). Friday night we got dinner from Twisted Plants in Cudahy. Yum! They have a lot of meat alternatives to "comfort" style food like chik'n wings and beyond burgers, etc. After dinner we went to the Brewer's game! We had a great time and it was a really good game with a Brewer's win. When we got home we had a little cheesecake to celebrate Dan's birthday!

Saturday I got up and went to Bayside Garden Center, which is a delightful place. It was packed!! I shouldn't have been surprised but whoa. In the afternoon I made some focaccia bread and we made that into sandwiches for dinner. They were excellent.

We went to go see the Milwaukee Ballet's production of Beauty and the Beast in the evening, as part of my birthday gift! It was such a beautiful production! We loved it.

Sunday morning we dropped Millie off for a 24-hour boarding stay, and then drove down to Six Flags in Gurnee! Woo woo. This was part of Dan's birthday celebration! He loves roller coasters. We had a really nice day in the park! It wasn't too busy, but some of the rides were not yet open for the season.

We had a little packed lunch in the car, and then stayed through the afternoon. About 4:30pm we left the park, stopped for gas, and drove home. I made some salmon and broccoli for a quick dinner, and then we watched the original Spider-man (with Tobey McGuire). That movie is a gem!

How was your weekend?
